5 Care And Maintenance Tips For Your John Deere Boots

Publicado el Martes, Febrero 9, 2010 en ARTICULOS EN INGLES

After ogling at John Deere Boots for quite a while, you have finally decided to get yourself a pair. Now that you finally have it, you just find yourself absolutely thrilled with it because it does not only look good but it also happens to be more comfortable than any pair of boots you have ever tried. Given that, you are only left with one more question. Will it last?

The answer to your question is yes. You can be assured of that because John Deere believes that boots should not only be comfortable and good to look at, but they should also be made to last. But you have to know that the life of your boots does not wholly depend on how they are made. You should also do your share in extending their life by caring for them.

So how exactly do you care for them?

Here are a few tips that will help keep your John Deere Boots looking like new.

1. Wear them properly.
Before you even start walking, make sure that your boots are properly worn. Walking in them when they are half worn can deform the shaft and damage other parts of the boots.

2. Take them off properly.
Refrain from kicking off your boots. This will only scratch the leather on the back part of the shaft.

3. Keep them clean after every use.
The best way in keeping your boots in tip top shape is by cleaning them up a bit after using them. You do not really have to do something major. You can just wipe dust and some grime off with a damp piece of cloth.
If you notice that simple wiping cannot do the trick anymore, you can subject the boots to thorough cleaning by using warm water, mild soap and a soft scrub brush. Make sure that you cover the entire surface of your boots and focus on the area with stitches. You can also give the inside lining the same treatment.
After treating them with water, you can dry the shaft and the inner lining with a piece of dry absorbent cloth. If the absorbent cloth is not enough, you can use forced dry air to help. Just note that the forced air temperature should not exceed 100°F as anything hotter may damage the leather.

4. Treat your boots with some leather conditioner.
These are solutions that do not only enhance the appearance of leather but most of them also make leather water proof. Be aware that there are a lot of conditioners available in the market so make sure that you get the correct variety for your boots.

5. Store them properly.
Leather is very sensitive with heat, sunlight and moisture. So make it a point to store your boots in a cool and dry place. Putting them in a box with silica gel will also help protect your boots from moisture.

Lastly you may also want to stuff your boots with old newspaper prior to storage. Doing this will prevent the shaft from deforming.
